Chapter 1 The Princess Seeks A Butler
-18 years after the twins come to earth-
Many things were said of Princess Lumi. Her luxurious brown curls and liquid blue eyes caused some to call her the fairest of maidens, but others thought her too gentle. But all of the kingdom wondered how the girl who had once been the most popular, only supposedly to end her social career when she befriended the court jester, could have won the heart of Prince Christopher IV. She was even adopted, they whispered in the streets.
Lumi did not mind them though. She loved Christopher, and she knew the Prince loved her for herself, not her beauty. Just as she preferred his firm sense of justice, so he preferred her sweet kindness to all other women, rich or poor.
Lumi sighed as she passed through the market place. She had been forced to dismiss the butler yesterday when he was caught with some of the crown jewels. Now she had to find a new butler. "If only I could find the old traditional kind," she murmured, as she turned back towards the castle.
Strangest of all things is fate. It can change an entire world through things we would never count as of any consequence. And thus it was in this case, when the Princess happened to run straight into someone.
"Oh!" Gasped Lumi as several things fell to the ground. "I'm so sorry! Here, let me help you..." She bent down to help the man who had been in front of her. "That's quite al right Miss!" he replied cheerfully. "I should have..." His voice trailed of when he looked up at her. She smiled uneasily.
"Is something wrong?" Lumi asked, confused by the shocked expression on his face. "Forgive me," he said. "You remind me of someone..." He shook his head, as if to rid himself of the memory.
The Princess eyed him curiously. He was handsome, but looked rather strange with purple hair that curled on one side but not the other, golden eyes, and he was only slightly taller than Lumi herself. But what interested her most was his clothing. He wore the uniform of a butler. She smiled at him and started to say something when a guard ran up.
"There you are! His Highness requires the Princess to return to the palace." Lumi smiled in amusement. This was Christopher's way of telling her he was getting lonely. As she headed back to he carriage she was startled to hear a voice behind her.
"Miss!" cried the strange man, "You dropped this." She gasped when he handed her her necklace "Oh my! I really must get this catch fixed." The Princess exclaimed.
She smiled at the man. "Are you by chance looking for employment at this moment?" She asked him. "Why, yes madam." he stammered. "Good! You're hired. Come to the palace early tomorrow morning." Lumi told him. "Goodness where are my manners?! I'm Princess Lumi." She said. He stared at her for a moment then smiled.
"Cube T. Butler at your service, your Highness, I'll be there." With that he bowed to her and walked away. The Princess smiled. 'I cannot possibly be luckier.' She thought.

Upon reaching the palace, Lumi went to find her husband. She discovered him busily writing proclamations and arguments to go with the laws he wished revoked by his father. "Hello my sweet Lumi," he said kissing her "and how was the market?" "I found a butler!" The princess said happily. "He starts tomorrow." "Hmm," the Prince replied, "we will have to watch him for a few days to see how he fairs."

Cube proved all they had hoped for. He was honest to an almost rigorous degree. "And his standards!" The princess exclaimed happily to her husband, "He's all we hoped for Chris. A nice traditional butler the old style one sees so rarely anymore." "I must agree Lumi. " Said the Prince. "Let us hire him permanently!" And so Cube came to work at the palace as butler to their royal highnesses Princess Lumi and Prince Christopher IV.
Author's Note: Wow. This is late AND short. I apologize. A couple of explanations. First, )(=)( means a change of scene. Some readers may recognize things like this. Second, when I say standards, I couldn't really think of a word that fit what I was trying to say. What I mean is, he is like a model butler, perfectly within whatever guidelines you expect of butlers. There's a reason for this I'll explain later.
